Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
Overview
Document Merge is a Google Docs add-on that helps users merge selected Google Docs into a new Google Doc, PDF, or both. This Privacy Policy explains what Google user data the add-on accesses, how that data is used, how data is protected, and how users can request deletion or contact us.
Google User Data We Access
Document Merge may access the following Google user data only when needed to provide the add-on's visible features:
- Google Docs files that you select through Google Picker.
- The names, file IDs, links, and resource keys of selected Google Docs and selected Drive folders.
- The text and document structure of selected Google Docs so the add-on can copy content into the merged output.
- Word-count information derived from selected Google Docs for display in the merge dialog.
- Comments and replies from selected Google Docs only if you choose to create a comments report.
- Google Drive folders that you select as destinations for merged output files.
- Google Docs and PDF files created by the add-on as requested output.
How We Use Google User Data
We use Google user data only to provide or improve user-facing add-on functionality, including to:
- Display selected documents in the merge workflow.
- Read selected Google Docs and copy their content into a merged Google Doc.
- Create PDF exports when you request PDF output.
- Create an optional comments report when you select that option.
- Save output files to the Drive folder you select.
- Show progress, results, warnings, and links to created output files.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, retargeting, personalized advertising, determining creditworthiness, lending, creating unrelated databases, or training AI models.
Disclosure, Sharing, and Transfers
We do not sell, rent, share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to third parties. We do not share Google user data with advertising platforms, data brokers, information resellers, or analytics vendors.
Google user data is processed within Google's Apps Script, Google Docs, and Google Drive services to complete the actions requested by the user. We may disclose information only if required to comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, protect security, or respond to a valid legal process.
Data Storage and Retention
Document Merge does not operate an external database and does not intentionally store copies of your selected Google Docs content outside your Google account. Output files are created in the Google Drive folder you choose and remain under your control in Google Drive.
Temporary processing data may exist during the active merge session so the add-on can complete the requested workflow. We retain data only for as long as needed to provide the requested feature or as required by law.
Data Deletion
You can delete merged Google Docs, PDFs, and comments reports directly from your Google Drive at any time. You can revoke the add-on's access from your Google Account permissions page. To request help with privacy or deletion questions, contact us at appwould.work@gmail.com.
Security
We use Google OAuth, Apps Script, Docs, and Drive authorization controls to access user-selected files. We request the minimum permissions needed for the add-on's merge features and use HTTPS connections provided by Google services. We take reasonable steps to protect Google user data against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Human Access
We do not manually read your Google Docs content. Human access to Google user data would occur only with your explicit request for support, for security or abuse investigation, or where required by law.
Children
Document Merge is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the add-on, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how Document Merge accesses, uses, stores, shares, or discloses Google user data, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, ask users to consent before using Google user data in a new way.
